Here are the eight most popular ways bloggers make money:

1-Ads

Google AdSense is a great way to monetize your blog

Ads are the most popular route that bloggers make and are the easiest way for a blogger to ensure an income.

There is no work put into this strategy.

All you have to do is is sign up to an ad network and wait for approval (which can take a couple of days).

After you are approved, you can start running ads immediately.

You do not have to limit yourself to ad networks.

You can also work directly with companies that would like to advertise on your blog.

It allows you more control over the ads placed on your site.

Running ads is a great way to collect data on the kind of products your readers like and do not like.

However, the truth of the matter is that it would not bring you much of an income in the initial stages.

Most newbie bloggers opt for Google AdSense.

AdSense revenues are conditional on many factors, such as how much traffic you get, what type of content you provide, the location of your readers, and how you set up your ads.

Ad revenue depends on three pricing models, CPM, CPC, and CPA.

CPM can work in your favor if you get a lot of traffic because you get paid according to how many visitors see the ads.

CPC earns based on how many times a visitor clicks on an advertisement.

CPA does not work like the CMP and CPC. Rather than being cited for views or clicks, the visitor must purchase the product or sign up for you to generate an income.

The downside to ads is that they can become bothersome to your readers, and you can potentially lose your readers to other sites.

If your reader clicks on an ad, they move to other sites.

If you are trying to build an audience, this can pose a real problem.

Another thing to consider is that most people find ads annoying and more often block the ads, resulting in you losing potential revenue.

Ads can potentially bring in a lot of revenue, mainly depending on the traffic you are getting.

If you are at your infancy stage and are not getting much traffic, you would probably make little to no money.

2-Affiliate marketing

Capitalize through affiliate marketing through your blog

Affiliate marketing means promoting products and getting a commission for every sale.

It is one of the best ways a blogger can make good money.

There are many affiliate programs you can join, like Amazon AffiliatesClickbankDigistore24, and so many more.

Affiliate marketers are the same as salespeople.

They promote and sell products and get a commission when someone buys their products.

write reviews and get paid

If you consider yourself a decent writer, you can write a review and get paid.

How awesome is that!

The number one tip here is; to write reviews relevant to your blog and your niche.

Your reviews should consist of products that appeal to your audience.

For example- if you have a blog about pets reviewing pet training and pet diets makes more sense than writing a review on a keto diet.

You can reach out to brands directly or use a platform like Funds for writers.

Funds for Writers is an online resource for writers. They pay Via PayPal or Venmo.

4- Turning Your Blog Into a Membership Site

turn your blog into a membership site

If you have a well-established blog and a loyal following, turning your blog into a membership site would be an excellent way to ensure an income.

If your fans are dedicated and value your content, they will pay to read more of what you write.

You can charge your users a one-time fee or a monthly subscription.

Your subscribers will be the only ones to have access to your content.

Selling memberships is a great way to monetize a blog.

5- You can write an E-book

generate an income by writing an e-book and have it self-published

Did you know that writing an e-book is so simple you would knock yourself over the head for not thinking about it? The great thing about creating e-books is that you write it once, and it has the potential of bringing you sales over and over again. You can launch your e-books on your blog site or self-publish them on sites such as Amazon KDP

For your e-book to sell, it has to be good.

So, at this point, you might ask, how do I create an e-book?

I do not know where to start!

Well, you can start with your blog posts.

You already have the content and most of the work done. All you have to do is format it. But, before you publish it, know that there is a lot of competition out there. Do your research. Also, look into sub-niches. Do your keyword research, create an appealing cover, and make sure you research the required word count for your e-book. When you are satisfied with your results, Publish them, and watch your money rolling in!

6- Offer Online Courses

offer online courses and generate an income via your blog

If you are an expert in your field and have something valuable to teach, you can turn your expertise into a course.

Even if you are not an expert, but you are very knowledgeable on a specific topic, or you have a talent for something, you can turn that knowledge/talent into a course and sell it to your readers. They will be happy to pay for something that will benefit them.

7- Earn money through freelancing

if you are a decent writer, you can make money by freelancing

You can utilize your blog to promote yourself, another great way to make money as a blogger.

Spending time or money is of no concern to you; with freelancing, all you have to do is offer your services.

You might be asking;- but Sue, I do not have any services to offer.

There is no need to think along those lines; because as a blogger, you are already a skilled writer; you can offer freelance writing as a service.

Maybe you have the skill of graphic design.

Offer services to startups that need a logo design or infographics, blog banners, blog graphics, or video.

Social media managing, content marketing, bookkeeping, web design, and much more are also among the services you can provide.

8- Email marketing

E-mail marketing is by far the best strategy for a blogger to make money

They say save the best for last, and in my opinion, email marketing is the best way a blogger can generate a lucrative income. I cannot emphasize enough the power of email marketing. It is one of the most effective methods for making money from your blog.

Its success rate supersedes social media and SEO because email marketing is the most powerful tool you have. Not only that, but it has the highest conversion rates of any other marketing channel.

Building your email list takes time. Creating quality content that provides for the needs of your readers is a great way to start. Gain the trust of your readers. Form a relationship with them, and you will find that the possibilities are endless. You can market your products and services, as well as your affiliate offers.

You can also use an email service, making your email marketing so much easier. Here is a list of a few email services that you can try out with free options:
